About Nicaragua

Nicaragua in Central America

Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America, with a population of about five million and a land area of 130,700 square kilometers. It is situated between Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south, with access to the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West.

Nicaragua has been blessed by nature with the most active and dormant volcanoes, freshwater lakes, untouched forests, and crater lakes in the whole region. In 2016, a team of scientists from the Geographic Channel visited and filmed a documentary about these majestic volcanoes.

After decades of political and military conflicts, peace was established in 1990 — giving the country a new perspective regarding economics and a positive image to the world. Since then, thousands of travelers from many countries have visited and enjoyed not only the climate of peace and safety, but the beautiful, yet undiscovered cities and tropical beaches Nicaragua offers.
