The methodology used in this Nicaraguan Spanish School consists of teaching Spanish the way native speakers learn — by doing. Our professional teachers model the pronunciation without changing our accent, without exaggerating in sounding weird or artificial. We speak Spanish as we speak in daily situations.
Our lessons are well organized and well-structured following the guidelines of the European Marco ELE. Our teachers plan their daily lessons in accordance with the student’s needs. Emphasis is placed on understanding and speaking the language by learning the functions and the necessary grammar structure and contextual vocabulary through conversation.
For intermediate and advanced levels, conversational topics are varied and interesting, planned and adapted to the interest of the participants. The lessons are a mixture of listening and conversation with little grammar explanation, adapted to the student’s level.

This conversation involves the student in topics of daily life, conducted by the teacher as the facilitator. Reducing Teacher Talking Time (TTT) and increasing Student Talking Time (STT) so you develop oral skills fast.
Teachers plan daily lessons in accordance with the student's needs. Grammar topics are organized and taught according to individual interest. A grammar topic is studied each day or every other day depending on the student's learning process and pace.

A grammar topic is studied each day or every other day, depending on the student’s learning process pace and level. Structure explanation, grammar pattern analysis, and oral and written practice are steps in every regular session. Written and oral homework — which implies real interaction — are daily assigned.
Contextual vocabulary is studied in each session. The goal is to train the brain towards an automatic and spontaneous response in Spanish in real context situations.
Class techniques include the use of varied materials such as graphics, flash cards, storybooks, vocabulary cards, and pronunciation exercises — and most importantly, the real atmosphere and culture that surrounds the students and the class.
The lessons provide students with the opportunity to speak Spanish while reducing the TTT (Teacher Talking Time) and increasing the STT (Student Talking Time), so students can develop their oral skills and practice the language in class.
Besides practice in class, students have the opportunity to be exposed to more communicative, real contexts outside the classroom — either with the host family or with people in the street and places visited during the afternoon field trips to nearby destinations organized by the school.
The classes include a wealth of information on places of interest in the country, designed in such a way to help students familiarize themselves with the natural use of the language and the geography, traditions, and culture of Nicaragua and the rest of Central America.
The homestay with a local Nicaraguan family is an extension of the classroom. Living with a host family means practicing Spanish at every meal, in every conversation, in every daily situation. This is the fastest and most effective way to consolidate what is learned in class and develop genuine fluency.
Active participation is a must for the students. Oral and written homework must be seen as an important task to train the brain to an automatic and spontaneous response in Spanish in real context situations.
