Spanish School in Laguna de Apoyo

A great location for learning Spanish and doing water sports! Laguna de Apoyo is a beautiful nature reserve situated at 15 kilometers from Granada city. This pristine fresh crater water lake is the perfect place for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, walking, enjoying thermal waters and relaxing.

The lagoon is a massive, roughly circular caldera, six kilometers in diameter, formed by a prehistoric volcanic eruption. Declared a nature reserve in 1991, the surrounding forests are home to howler monkeys, many species of birds, orchids and numerous species of wild flowers and trees, white-faced monkeys. It is the site to watch toucans, squirrels, the beautiful exotic blue Morpho butterfly and other wild animals.

Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural, the Nicaragua Spanish School, in partnership with the Freediving school offers Spanish lessons and Water Sports in Laguna de Apoyo where you can take a freediving course combined with boarding at the diving school site. Language lessons are taught on the diving site.
