Ometepe Island, located within Lake Cocibolca known as Lake Nicaragua, is formed by two massive volcanoes, Concepción and Maderas. Accesible via a 1-2 hour ferry ride departuring from the port of San Jorge to Moyogalpa port in the island. Ometepe is famous for hiking, freshwater swimming, and rich indigenous history.
