The Nicaraguan Spanish School, “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural” was founded in 2004 in Granada. Raúl is a senior professor of English as a Foreign Language, and Spanish as a Second Language graduated at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua –UNAN- in Managua (1987); language professor at various high schools and universities in Nicaragua: UCA, UPOLI, UCEM, UNICA (1981-1997); English teacher for executives in various public and private institutions Banco Central de Nicaragua, PETRONIC, Hotel Camino Real, Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua, and other companies in coordination with the former Oficinas de Capacitación (Training Offices) in Managua 1990-1997; private tutor of Spanish as a Second Language in Managua (1987-2005); language teacher at the North American Nicaraguan Cultural Center in Managua CCNN–Centro Cultural Norte Americano Nicaragüense - (1994).

He worked as a Spanish teacher and marketing adviser at the Spanish school in Laguna de Apoyo, Nicaragua (1995-2000); founder of the first Spanish schools in San Juan del Sur and Granada for the former Nicaragua Spanish Schools USA- owned and operated company in Nicaragua (1997); Trainer for the former teachers at Nicaragua Spanish Schools; Executive Coordinator and Representative to Nicaragua Spanish Schools , USA (1997-1999); Spanish teacher for foreigners at the Centro Lingüístico Cultural Tenotzaní in Managua(1999).

Raúl was also a professor and Coordinator of the Departamento de Español in the Nicaragua/Costa Rica program for USA Universities held in Central American countries El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica by the International Center of Training and Professional Development (CEIDEPRO) with Offices in Costa Rica and Nicaragua with Saint John University and Saint Benedict College from Minnesota, USA, in Costa Rica (2000-2011).

Beside the academic experience he has also worked as a translator and interpreter for Hope Project in Nicaragua in 1992 (United States medical NGO); he has worked as a translator and interpreter for International Development Enterprises in Nicaragua (IDE) 2010-2011 (United States business company for irrigation systems); and since 2007 he has worked in remote rural areas occasionally as a translator and interpreter for former Building with Books in Nicaragua, now buildOn -United States NGO which build schools and bring volunteers in various countries-. Raúl has also been a tour guide for Costa Rican tourists visiting Granada, Masaya, and Managua (2009-2010) with former De Coral Destinos Tour Operator from Costa Rica.

Raúl experience includes him as a professor of Literature in the course Literature and Culture of Nicaragua, and as a Spanish professor for an academic semester program for US Dordt College in León, Nicaragua (2010-2017); Present Coordinator of the Spanish Cultural Immersion and Service Learning program for American high schools in Nicaragua offered by Instituto Lingüístico since 2014; and Present Academic Director of Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural, the Spanish school in Granada, Nicaragua. Professor Gavarrette completed a Diploma in “Rubén Darío” Literature at the UNEH University in 2018, in Masaya-Nicaragua.

Teacher profile
A nice energetic bilingual teacher with a great sense of responsibility and humor, he loves traveling and meeting people from different countries and cultures. He has taught people of all ages and levels from beginner to advanced speakers from many countries. His interests include history, literature, poetry, art, languages, music, dancing, painting, drawing and taking pictures. Well organized, punctual, and disciplined, his classes are very dynamic and amusing. He has traveled throughout the whole country even to remote mountains and small communities in the North of Nicaragua. He has also visited Honduras, El Salvador, Panama and Costa Rica. Costa Rica was practically a second home for him for many years as he alternated teaching there and in Nicaragua for a very long time. Open-minded and mature, Raul tries to make everybody feel comfortable in the programs he leads. Sensitive to social situations he likes helping people and working in the programs as a team. He likes cooking all kind of food. He speaks English and some French. His favorite past times are reading poetry, novels, literature, and travelling. He also likes writing poetry and has published awesome poems in the cultural local newspapers. Some of his poems were translated into English by the British poet John Lyon in the 80´s and published in England. His poems were also published in the anthology of poetry workshops sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in 1983 and recently re published in 2015 in Costa Rica with the support of the Costa Rican poet Mayra Jiménez. Raúl likes playing the guitar and singing in karaoke. Other hobbies include hiking, camping, nature and protecting the environment. In his own words: “I love the mountains and the sea. Professor Rodríguez is a Communicative English and Spanish Teacher as a Foreign Language Professor graduated at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua –UNAN- (2003); language Professor at Universidad Centro Americana -UCA-(1987 through 1992); University English Professor at former Universidad Tecnologica (1995-1996) and Universidad del Valle (2004 through 2007) in Managua, Nicaragua; Spanish Teacher and Interpreter for foreigners at Centro Lingüístico Cultural Tenotzani in Managua (1992); Translator for World Vision Organization and Plan Internacional where he made translations of letters written by foreign international sponsors to children in poor rural communities in Nicaragua; Academic coordinator in the English Teaching Institute American Academy of Nicaragua (1994-1995); Acquired the spoken and written English Language while living and attending school in Pullman, Washington (1968-1970) and New Orleans, Louisiana (1979-1980) in the United States; language teacher and TOEFL Internet Based Test Administrator at the North American Nicaraguan Cultural Center (Binational Center) in Managua (1998-2014); English Language Methodology Instructor at Nicatesol, Ticatesol and Centro Cultural Salvadoreño International Conferences; Private Spanish Teacher for international students among whom are Germans, Koreans, Canadians, Arabs and some U.S. Embassy officials; Spanish language teacher for the Nicaraguan Spanish Schools “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural” since 2007, Nicaragua. Fernando is a widely experienced language teacher who has had ample contact with international visitors and students from many parts of the world. His experience has enabled him to have insight over students’ language needs and to enable students to effortlessly grasp the intricacies of the language. Fernando likes to be updated with technology and to do research through the internet. He loves swimming, diving, snorkeling, playing ball sports and board games and is always finding the proper words to address unusual vocabulary which has to do with culture, technology, and sports. He has a special passion for a wide range of scientific issues. Fernando has traveled abroad several times to various countries in Central America, Mexico and more recently to England, Spain, Colombia and a couple of Middle Eastern countries. He loves travelling. He lived in the United States for approximately 12 years, which provided him with a rich cultural context; he worked as an English teacher in Jazan, Saudi Arabia making a significant contribution to the academic development of young Saudi men under a 4-year project sponsored by the Canadian English Institute Algonquin College based in Ottawa, Canada. He is currently back in our school bringing back a whole array of cultural aspects from the Middle East to enrich students’ knowledge of our fellow Arab citizens. Fernando is a teacher who likes to make friends with people from other countries; he is punctual and enjoys giving souvenirs.

Spanish teaching background
Yorleny studied to be an English teacher at a technical school in Masaya. She started many years ago as a Spanish teacher in the Laguna de Apoyo Spanish school, and then worked as a Spanish teacher in different Spanish language schools and programs in Granada. She also worked as an English and Spanish pre-school and a kinder teacher in the Carazo Christian Academy. Since 2008, Yorleny has been a Spanish teacher in the “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural”, the Spanish language school in Granada, one of the pioneer schools in the immersion programs in Nicaragua. Mrs. Dávila was assigned by the school, as a teacher in the intensive Spanish courses for the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Granada for 2015-2017. She has also been a teacher for the course the Spanish school offers to volunteers from Taiwan, since 2016. Yorleny has been a Spanish teacher with Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural Spanish language School in Granada since 2009.

Reyna is a Spanish language and an elementary teacher. She studied English at the MASINFA in Masaya. She started teaching Spanish many years ago in the Spanish school in Laguna de Apoyo. Reyna worked as a teacher in the various Granada and Masaya Spanish schools, and in the Spanish immersion for High School program in Granada. She has been a teacher in elementary schools in Valle de la Laguna in Masaya as well. She started working as a Spanish teacher in the Granada Spanish School “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural” in 2009. Reyna has also been a Spanish teacher in the Ceramic and Spanish course held by the same Spanish school in Granada and Masaya, and then Mrs. Ruiz was assigned by the school, as a teacher in the intensive Spanish courses for the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Granada and Managua in 2015-2017. She has also been a teacher for the course the Spanish school offers to volunteers from Taiwan, since 2016. Reyna was also assigned to teach Spanish lessons in Masaya and Managua in other language programs held by “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural”.

Spanish teaching background
Meyling is a young Spanish teacher in the Spanish school in Granada. She is a graduated from the UENIC University in Managua where she studied pedagogy. She also studied to be a Tourist and Hotel Management technician at IMTECOMP, as well as computer programs, both in Masaya. She started teaching Spanish in 2006. Meyling worked as a Spanish teacher at the Spanish school in Laguna de Apoyo, Masaya; also she worked as an elementary school teacher in a school called La Comunidad in Tipitapa, Managua. She is an open person, and among her labor experiences she has worked as a seamstress in CUPID free zone factory in Masaya, and has been a babysitter in Managua. Since 2014 she has been a Spanish teacher in the Nicaraguan Spanish School “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural” in Granada, and has been a Spanish teacher in the Ceramic and Spanish course held by the same Spanish school in Granada and Masaya. Meyling was assigned by the school, as a teacher for the intensive Spanish courses for the volunteers of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Granada and Managua in 2015-2017. Academic and General Director
Professor Gavarrette has been a language English and Spanish teacher and professor in many High Schools and Universities in Nicaragua. He worked for the UCA, UPOLI, UCEM, and UNICA universities in Managua. He started his career in education in 1981. He graduated as a language professor at the prestigious Nicaraguan Autonomous National University (UNAN) in 1987. Besides being a language teacher he has worked as a translator since 2007. He has travelled in international field trips to El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica as a Spanish professor in an overseas language program for Universities from the United States. Professor Gavarrette worked in Costa Rica for many years for Academic Semester Abroad programs from USA Universities, where he gained a lot of educational experience in this field. From 2011 to 2017 he was stable in Nicaragua leading the former “Proyecto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural”, currently the “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural” the Spanish school in Granada founded by him in 2004. Since 2018 he has been leading educational trips for American and Canadian students in Costa Rica combined with Spanish programs in Nicaragua.

Raúl´s brief
Faith, honesty, responsibility and determination are the keys to efficiency and progress for Raúl. He is the kind of person who likes making things to be done and getting them done. He is very professional doing his job which he accomplishes with a great sense of responsibility. He enjoys travelling which he often does along the country as part of his job as a translator. Administrative Assistant
Darling studied accounting for two years and also studied business administration as part of her technical education, as well as labor attorney. She also took a course for being a waiter. At the present she is studying in a technical educational center in Masaya, to be a Public Accountant. She worked at the Centro Cultural Antiguo Mercado de Masaya in the organization of cultural events such as the folkloric carnival, and the folkloric festival both in Masaya, the organization of the poetic carnival the Granada International Poetry Festival; participated in the convention of the cultural traditions of the Pacific of Nicaragua coordinated by the UNESCO. Darling also worked as Administrative Assistant for the Casa de Cultura “Alejandro Vega Matus” in Masaya; she has been working as the Administrative Assistant for the Escuela de Español “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural” in Granada since 2009.

Darling´s Profile
Darling is a nice, friendly, a hard working and cooperative person. She is married and has a daughter. Her likes are reading, doing physical exercises, and walking. Darling likes listening to music, watching films, and going to the church. She enjoys getting to know new places and experiencing the recreation. School transportation provider
Anthony is currently working as a bilingual driver for the “Instituto Lingüístico Inter-Cultural”. Besides working as a driver, he works also as an independent tourist guide in Managua and other cities. Anthony is the one who provides reliable transportation service for the school students. He is always willing and available to provide transportation whenever any of our students require it from the Airport in Managua to our school in Granada or vice versa. He is a good driver who always cares for the students!
